May 18 DELab Talks: Coding Democracy
Digital Economy Lab UW invites you to another meeting in the DELab Talks series. This time we will consider whether democracy can be rooted in technology: whether modern technologies can ensure transparency, participation and equality of the political process.
The discussion will be attended by writer and foresight specialist Karl Schroeder and Prof. Anna Giza-Poleszczuk, Vice-Rector of Development and Financial Policy at the University of Warsaw. Karl Schroeder is a renowned Canadian science fiction writer and strategic foresight specialist, author of 11 novels and over 20 short stories. He has created foresight scenarios for the Canadian government and is currently involved in projects involving the use of technologies such as block chain and “smart contracts”.
