Funding from the NCBR IdeaLab competition for the project "Co-designing inclusive mobility"

In the competition announced by the National Center for Research and Development called The IdeaLab Call for Full Proposals, in the track "Cities for the future: services and solutions" the project led by Dr. Anna Nicińska received funding. As part of the funding, the research team will implement a project called "Co-designing inclusive mobility", which is guided by the idea of building consensus around the topic of mobility in the city and strengthening the potential of residents and decision-makers in co-shaping sustainable transport models. The project is based on an interdisciplinary approach to the topic of mobility, ecology and civic participation.
"The aim of the project is to analyse the relationship between transport, air quality, city infrastructure and the needs of residents. The aim is to develop knowledge and tools that enable co-design of available solutions that improve the quality of life and reduce air pollution in specific areas of the city. We develop and test the solutions in the vicinity of several Warsaw schools, and then analyse them so that they can be implemented in other conditions. These solutions will be developed in cooperation with all stakeholders, including residents, companies and city government, using an interdisciplinary approach from "citizen science", natural and technical sciences, and tools such as surveys and city labs, but also artificial intelligence, machine learning and environmental modelling." The consortium implementing the project also includes: dr hab. inż. Maciej Grzenda, prof. PW (Warsaw University of Technology), dr Nuria Castell (Norwegian Air Research Institute), Magdalena Kubecka (Foundation "Na lokal"), dr Jakub Zawieska (Warsaw School of Economics), Michał Furmanek (City of Lublin) and dr Pal Wilter Skedsmo (Fridtjof Nansen Insitute).
