Prof. Katarzyna Śledziewska at the European Economic Congress!

The ninth edition of the largest business meeting in Central Europe – the European Economic Congress – took place in the International Congress Centre in Katowice on 10-12 May 2017. DELab UW was represented by dr hab. Katarzyna Śledziewska, who took part in two sessions: "Development of the pharmaceutical industry in Central Europe" and "E-citizen in e-office".
The panel "E-citizen in e-office" took place on the second day of the conference. In addition to Prof. Śledziewska, the discussion was attended by: Krzysztof Adamcewicz, Director, Roche Polska Sp. z oo; Krzysztof Kępiński, Director, External Relations and Public Vaccine Market Division, GSK Commercial Sp. z oo; Wojciech Kozłowski, Partner, Dentons Law Firm; Rajmund I. Martyniuk, Vice President of the Management Board, Zakłady Farmaceutyczne Polpharma SA; Erik Plas, Vice President of the Management Board, INFARMA Association of Employers of Innovative Pharmaceutical Companies. The session was moderated by Maciej Bogucki, expert from the team for competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry at the Ministry of Development. The discussion revolved around the following topics: Socially sensitive business? Company strategies, cooperation with administration, responsibility and image Competition under political pressure. The role of regulation and financing of healthcare systems The pharmaceutical industry as a carrier of innovation. The Role of the Research and Development Sector The Managing Director of DELab UW presented the conclusions from DELab UW research on the development of innovation in the pharmaceutical sector in Poland and its importance for GDP. On the third day of the conference, the panel "E-citizen in e-office" was held, moderated by Prof. Katarzyna Śledziewska, and the panel consisted of: Marcin Giżycki, Vice President of the Management Board, ING Bank Śląski SA; Paweł Hulewicz, Senior Technology Officer in the Tax Management Consulting Team, Deloitte Doradztwo Podatkowe; Paweł Jakubik, Member of the Management Board, Microsoft; Mariusz Madejczyk, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Digital Affairs for Cooperation with the Government and Local Government Administration of the Republic of Poland, Plenipotentiary of the Podlaskie Voivode for Computerization and Director of the Office of IT and Development of Teleinformatic Systems at the Podlaskie Voivodeship Office in Białystok; Dariusz Marcjasz, Vice President of the Management Board, National Clearing House. The discussion revolved around the topics: Information society and computerization of offices Changing the way officials work – how can business and technology help?
