Conference "GAME FOR METROPOLIS - WHICH BUSINESS MODELS WILL WORK IN CITIES OF THE FUTURE?" as part of the SharOn project

Increasing mobility is one of the main challenges that both metropolises and smaller towns have been facing for years to become sustainable, competitive places to live for their residents. Many Polish cities cannot cope with the increasing car traffic, inefficient public transport and the effects of poor spatial planning. The effects of these problems are felt in the form of smog, hours spent in traffic jams and we can see in the inglorious statistics of road accidents.
Experts see the opportunity to improve this situation in the development of new technologies, business models and economic and urban trends related to the smart city concept. Today, we can already see the growing presence of alternative transport models based on mobile applications on the streets of our cities. However, in order to fully use the opportunities arising from smart cities, cities must make an effort to create intelligent transport systems that will make communication safe, fast, cheap and safe for the environment. Are our local authorities, businesses, including the startup ecosystem, ready for this? We would like to discuss this problem with you on October 29 at DELab UW! The effect of our meeting will be the commencement of work on recommendations regarding the shaping of issues related to mobility in Polish cities. We will present these recommendations to representatives of the Warsaw authorities and the central authorities during the next debate at the end of November. We invite both entrepreneurs from industries related to the smart city concept and sharing economy business models, as well as residents interested in the development of our city, to the meeting.
