Innovators Under 35 Europe, the international MIT Technology Review competition for young technology innovators, has announced the names of the ten most brilliant young minds in its first Polish edition.
From medicine to robotics and from cloud computing to photovoltaic technology, innovators under the age of 35 are working on and solving the big societal problems of our time in different ways. They will present their extraordinary works on June 23 during the Innovators Under 35 event, which will take place as part of the Bitspiration Festival at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, organized with the support of BNP Paribas and L'Atelier BNP Paribas. Innovators Under 35 is not only an important distinction awarded by MIT, but also a global community of the greatest leaders making technological breakthroughs of tomorrow. Over the course of more than ten years, the global competition has selected 35 of the most talented young innovators from around the world. Some of the previous winners, such as Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Sergey Brin (Google) or Daniel Ek (Spotify), now enjoy international recognition. This exclusive, year-on-year-growing group includes European innovators from Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and now also from Poland. The first generation of Innovators Under 35 Poland is a group as revolutionary as it is diverse. The winners are: Aleksandra Orchowska, Warsaw, Project Anatomia Her educational video game, with a robot in the lead role, teaches children how to live with diabetes Kamila Staryga, Skierniewice, Besense Her smart pad detects the presence of gynecological diseases in menstrual blood and transmits the data to a smartphone. Katarzyna Nawrotek, Lodz, Lodz University of Technology Her personalized, biocompatible implants are able to regenerate and reconnect damaged nerves. Maciej Machulak, Opole, Synergetics His innovative protocol puts control over personal data shared over the Internet back in the hands of the user. Marcin Piątkowski, Tarnobrzeg, JAM Vehicles His innovative electric bike could revolutionize street traffic. Marcin Treder, Gdańsk, UXPin His collaborative design software, created with an emphasis on intuitive use, became a hit in Silicon Valley. Michal Mikulski, Gliwice, EGZOTech His robot provides rehabilitation for people suffering from muscle injury or atrophy. Olga Malinkiewicz, Warsaw, Saule Technologies Created a printing technology that enables the production of cheap and flexible perovskite layers that can revolutionize the energy sector. Przemysław Kornatowski, Warsaw, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) He created drones specialized in rescue missions related to natural disasters and other high-risk scenarios. Tomasz Wołkowicz, Warsaw, National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene His test to confirm Ebola virus infection is faster and cheaper than available alternatives. The first generation of Innovator Under 35 Poland will present their projects on June 23 during the Bitspiration Festival (at the Palace of Culture and Science) in front of a large audience of decision-makers, entrepreneurs and academics from the European innovation community.
