September 14–16, 2016 Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystems

On 14-16 September 2016, the University of Warsaw Library hosted one of the largest and most prestigious events presenting the use of scientific knowledge in innovative business processes: the 9th annual international conference EuroMed: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystems. This year's edition was held for the first time in the Central European region - in Warsaw - and brought together about 200 outstanding representatives of science and business from 32 countries.
The conference was the most important scientific event concerning the innovative economy, and at the same time the largest of all organized in Poland so far under the patronage of the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The event was also a unique opportunity for companies operating in Poland to join the international cooperation network of research centers, universities and international enterprises. During parallel scientific sessions and workshops, over 50 topics were considered, including: Digital Economy and Business Environments; Finance and Accounting; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Management and International Business; Marketing; Organization and Human Resources Management; Strategic Management. The conference began with a ceremonial Grand Opening, led by Prof. Katarzyna Śledziewska – Managing Director of DELab UW, during which representatives of the sponsors spoke: Mariola Belina-Prażmowska from Pelion SA, Bartłomiej Żerek from the Adamed Group and Sebastian Grabowski from Orange Polska, as well as Dr. Marek Prawda – representative of the European Commission Representation in Poland. The Grand Opening was also graced by the presence of the Vice-Rector of the University of Warsaw for Scientific Affairs – Dr. hab. Maciej Duszczyk, as well as Candace Johnson, President of EBAN (European Business Angel Network). The EMRBI Institute was represented by Prof. Demetris Vrontis and Prof. Yaakov Weber. The conference was accompanied by events that were to additionally strengthen the integration of the world of science with the world of business: – unique workshops led by Candance Johnson entitled: “The missing link” on the subject of establishing cooperation between young companies, business and representatives of the world of science READ MORE – a unique Match-making Event organized by Enterprise Europe Network, during which participants had the opportunity to establish business contacts READ MORE – Avenue of Polish Innovations, within which 23 most innovative Polish start-ups presented their products READ MORE – a debate on the innovativeness of Polish enterprises, organized by DELab UW in cooperation with PRB READ MORE The conference was concluded with a ceremonial dinner, Gala Dinner, during which awards were presented in 6 categories.
