D3.js Introductory Workshop

On Sunday (April 10, 2016), Piotr Migdał led an introductory workshop to D3.js (https://d3js.org/) – a library that allows for interactive data visualization from the browser. 16 people from various fields participated – physics, biology, sociology, architecture, business analytics. For most of them, it was their first experience with JavaScript.
The workshops consisted of a short introduction to data visualization – with theory, good and bad practices, examples. However, most of the classes consisted of participants working on their own laptops – interacting with simple examples, as well as working on a project (which character says how many lines in the first part of the film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings). We encourage those interested in learning D3.js to familiarize themselves with the materials at http://p.migdal.pl/2016/02/09/d3js-icm-kfnrd.html.
