If… you are preparing to write a thesis… you are trying to come up with an original topic… you are interested in issues related to ecology, environmental protection, nature, climate change, sustainable development… you would like the topic of your thesis to be practical and useful on a wider scale, and the results of your research and analyses could be used to solve specific problems… and in addition you think that it is worth cooperating with institutions outside the university for this purpose…
The University of Warsaw and the Social Innovation and Research Workshop "Stocznia" invite you to participate in the eCoLab workshop, organized as part of the eCo-Solving project. The meeting will be held on March 13.03.2015, 10.00, from 15.00:20 to 11.03.2015:503, at the headquarters of "Stocznia" at ul. Bracka 343b in Warsaw. The main idea of the project is to develop a model of cooperation between the university and institutions from the private, public and non-governmental sectors, in order to solve real problems in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. During the workshops, we will jointly identify the needs, expectations, benefits and potential difficulties and limitations related to intersectoral cooperation in the context of creating theses. Without understanding mutual needs, it is not possible to create a well-functioning and widely applicable model of cooperation. The workshop is addressed to UW students who: are preparing to write a diploma thesis (bachelor's, master's), are interested in the broadly understood subject of sustainable development, ecology, environmental protection, climate change, as part of the preparation of the diploma thesis are ready to establish and maintain cooperation with an external institution interested in initiating research work on environmental topics resulting from real problems and needs. Benefits of participation: free participation in workshops conducted by recognized trainers, in a modern co-solving and design thinking formula, the opportunity to take part in further stages of the project and prepare a diploma thesis in cooperation with an external institution, the opportunity to establish contacts and exchange ideas with people interested in similar research topics. We believe that the eCo-Solving project will facilitate action at the interface of fields, industries and sectors, providing a basis for creating innovative solutions. We want the cooperation model developed as part of the project to be widely used in the future to solve problems, not only environmental ones, and for all universities to benefit from it. The potential of such cooperation is so great that it is worth simply starting to act, despite the difficulties that may arise along the way! Please describe in a few short sentences (and send to: mjujka@stocznia.org.pl) why you want to take part in these workshops and what topic you could pursue. The number of places is limited. Confirmation of your qualification for the workshop will be sent to you by e-mail by 321. If you have any questions, please contact: Maria Jujka-Radziewicz: mjujka@stocznia.org.pl, tel.
