Dr. Kristóf Gyódi

Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw

Researcher at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and at the Digital Economy Lab University of Warsaw. He has defended his PhD thesis titled “The characteristics and economic impact of novel business models: the case of Airbnb in European cities” in 2022. His research interests include the impact of Airbnb on cities, urban issues related to digitalization and text-mining.

He has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals, including journals with high IF (Tourism Management and Journal of Cleaner Production). Kristóf regularly presents in academic conferences, such as theAnnual North American Meetings of the Regional Science Association International, Global Conference on Economic Geography orInternational Workshop on the Sharing Economy. He is the principal investigator of a research project supported by the National Science Centre, focusing on the characteristics and economic effects of Airbnb in European cities. Kristóf has also rich experience in working in international research teams: he has been a member of the: NGI(Next Generation Internet) Engineroom and NGI Forward research project, financed by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Programme. The aim of the project was the identification of social and regulatory challenges related to digitalization with data-science methods. The results are summarized in the form of interactive presentations, reportsand academic papers. At the Faculty of Economic Sciences, he is teaching courses related to programming in Python and data analysis. The more detailed list of papers and academic achievements is available here.

He is a music and vinyl enthusiast, who is also enjoying digital culture.
