Currently, there are platforms coexisting on the market that bring together licensed taxi drivers, such as mytaxi, and unlicensed drivers whose activities raise doubts from a legal perspective. The surveyed taxi drivers emphasize the unfairness of competition – Drivers who do not pay for licenses, increased passenger insurance or depreciation for a car marked as a taxi in the registration certificate, or provide passenger transport services without a work permit are willing to accept trips at a much lower price.

WHAT DO TAXI DRIVERS EXPECT FROM THE STATE?

Taxi drivers surveyed they do not deny the principle of competition on the market, but they believe that competition must be fair and the law must be clearly defined and respected – the current legal status is, in their opinion, unfavourable and unfair. They also emphasise that the lack of clear systemic solutions exposes passengers to danger, who have no guarantee that the driver has skills, a functional car and appropriate insurance.
