Currently, platforms that bring together licensed cab drivers, such as mytaxi, and unlicensed drivers, whose activities raise questions from a legal perspective, coexist in the market. The surveyed cab drivers emphasize the unfairness of competition – drivers who do not pay for licenses, increased insurance covering the passenger or depreciation of the car marked as a cab in the registration certificate, or perform passenger transportation services without a work permit are willing to accept courses at a much lower price.
WHAT DO CAB DRIVERS EXPECT FROM THE STATE?
The surveyed cab drivers do not deny the principle of competition in the market, however they think that competition must be fair and the law must be clearly defined and obeyed – the current legal state is in their opinion unfavorable and unjust. They also emphasize that the lack of clear systemic solutions puts passengers at risk, as they have no guarantee that the driver has skills, a functioning car and adequate insurance.
