In this book prof. Katarzyna Śledziewska and prof. Renata Włoch seek answers to a number of key questions:

The authors draw a picture of unimaginable development potential, but also of the unprecedented challenges of the fourth technological revolution. Companies, governments, NGOs, and universities that fail to seize the opportunities of digital transformation and deal with its negative effects will face marginalization.

This diagnosis takes on particular significance in the context of the unraveling crisis, which will require reaching for out-of-the-box solutions based on harnessing the potential of data and artificial intelligence.

From the reviews…

The book is a valuable and needed position to expand our knowledge of new phenomena in the economy related to the digital turn or turnaround. Its consequences for society and the economy are not yet fully understood, because it is happening before our eyes, it is transforming the entire social structure and the life of each of us, perhaps most of all the economic life […] The marriage of economics and sociology in Digital Economy has proven to be successful […] Katarzyna Śledziewska and Renata Włoch are a complementary tandem, thanks to several years of cooperation within the Digital Economy Lab at the University of Warsaw, which they co-founded and where they conduct interesting, often pioneering research on the state of the digital economy in Poland.

The analysis of the presented processes is interdisciplinary, which is an original contribution of the authors to enrich the knowledge of the dynamics of socio-economic processes in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. The study can serve readers who seek knowledge about the modern world, and in particular about human involvement as a producer and consumer using the latest technological solutions. The publication is a valuable item in the literature published in Polish in the field of social sciences, in particular in the disciplines of economics and finance and sociological sciences, and partly also in the discipline of management and quality sciences.
